TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW!
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our next concert Saturday 21st March. We will be performing Poulenc's Gloria and Puccini's Messa di Gloria with organ and brass quintet conducted by Nicholas Houghton.
Giacomo Puccini wrote and first performed his Messa di Gloria aged 21 as a graduation piece. It was then put aside, only to be rediscovered 72 years later (in 1952), since which time it has become an establishrd favourite in the choral repertoire. It has a youthful exuberance and some great tunes - as you might expect from one of the greatest Italian opera composers.
Francis Poulenc wrote his Gloria in 1959. His distinctive melodic writing and attractive harmony has made it very popular with audiences and choirs alike.
Our Soloists will be:
Soprano - Shona Knight
Tenor - Paul Austin Kelly
Bass - Jozik Koc
Organist - Hamish Dustagheer
Wine and soft drinks will be on sale before the concert and during the interval.
Level step-free access is via the 'Stage Door' in Knoyle Road.
Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
Doors will open at 6.45pm
