Description: | ![]() The Armed Man: a mass for peace, was commissioned by the Royal Armouries Museum for the Millennium and to mark the museum's move from London to Leeds. It is dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo war. This is a powerful and moving work which includes sacred and secular texts and the Adhaan (Call to Prayers). We will also perform 'Sure On This Shining Night' by Morten Lauridsen - one of the beautiful works from his Nocturnes. In addition we are very excited to announce that we will be joined in the concert by The Varndean School Samba Band, who will be demonstrating their versatility by performing work specially composed to give extra drama to the concert. Our retiring collection will be for Medecins Sans Frontieres - Doctors Without Borders. https://msf.org.uk/https://msf.org.uk/ Book your tickets in advance via our website and skip the queues.
