Women - Winter and
Spring Concerts
Black trousers or long black skirts, to the ankle.
Skirts – straight, A-line or pleated if they hang straight. Slit skirts are
acceptable. |
Not dark blue, navy or grey,
see-through, shiny or glittery fabric.
Not sun-ray, flounced or very full.
Not mid calf, or very shiny / glittery. |
| Trousers – smart trousers only. |
No jeans. |
Black tights or knee-lengths
Smart clean black shoes
Waist length black shirt or blouse of plain design.
Open necked, with turned down collar, modest neckline, reasonably close
fitting.
Plain buttons on centre of the front are acceptable.
Long sleeves to the wrist or ¾ length sleeve.
Shirts do not need to be tucked in. |
No bare legs or feet
No open sandals
No dark blue, navy, grey, see-through, shiny or glittery fabric.
No Peter Pan, mandarin or stand up collars.
No polo neck collars or ruffles.
Necklines should narrow downwards.
No puffed sleeves. |
Discreet jewellery, small black handbag
Black belts with discreet buckles at wearer’s discretion
Very light if any scent / perfume

Please do not wash these
scarves as the colour runs. They should need no more than a light press. |

Summer Concerts
For the summer concert we have a more informal uniform with coloured
shirts/blouses, no jackets for the men, black bow ties for the men rather than the Orpheus
pink ones and without the Choir scarves for women. For women, tights/knee lengths
can be left off and smart open black sandals worn. Otherwise, as above. At
present, the colours are bright and/or clear shades of blue or green in odd-numbered years
and of red/yellow/orange in even years. Blue does not include purple, grey or dark navy,
and green does not include dark olive/khaki/sludge, but shades of aqua/turquoise are fine.
Red does not include pastel pink or brown. Sleeves will always be long for
both men and women. No open sandals for men. |
