The Sinfonia of Arun was formed in 1982 and has since developed into one of the South's leading orchestras. It now performs in many different venues, with various choral societies and on occasions produces its own series of orchestral concerts.  The orchestra has worked regularly with the Brighton Orpheus Choir for some years.

The orchestra has played with many leading soloists including Hugh Bean, Katharine Adams, Michala Petri and Christopher Warren Green, performing a wide range of music including Vivaldi, Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Strauss, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, and many others. The Sinfonia also performs as a chamber ensemble from string quartets to larger ensembles.
