Brighton Orpheus Choir is pleased to announce an evening of song and stories by Jeremy Bines, the Chorus Master at the world renowned Glyndebourne Opera.
Guests will be very welcome to join with members of the choir to hear first hand what it is like to be a Chorus Master and how the Glyndebourne chorus rehearses.


After a short break (during which wine & nibbles will be on sale) the choir and guests confident in reading music are invited to rehearse two opera choruses with Jeremy. Other guests are very welcome to sit back and enjoy the rehearsal.

Jeremy Bines, Chorusmaster at Glyndebourne Opera

Jeremy Bines studied Music at Cambridge University (graduating with a double distinction) trained as a répétiteur at the National Opera Studio. As a freelance member of music staff, he has regularly worked for many major UK companies including the Royal Opera, ENO, and Aldeburgh, and for companies in France, Spain and Italy.

He was Assistant Music Director of the Lyrique-en-Mer Festival, Belle Ile, France, from 2004 to 2007, and joined the Royal Danish Opera from 2006-2009 – firstly as a répétiteur, and latterly as Chorusmaster. Jeremy was appointed Chorus Master of Glyndebourne in autumn 2009. He returns to Copenhagen in January 2010 to conduct a double bill with the Royal Danish Ballet and Danish National Chamber Orchestra.
