Stella
Hull became only the second Conductor of the Brighton Orpheus Choir in autumn 1999.
She had studied singing in London with John Carol Case and is a contralto soloist.
Stella read music at Birmingham University, obtaining both a B.Mus and PGCE. In Worcestershire and the West Midlands she taught music in both secondary and primary schools, and became County Advisory Teacher for Music in Staffordshire. She moved with her family to Lewes in 1996.
She teaches singing privately and conducts the Lewes Junior Choir and the Lewes Youth Choir. Working with the Brighton Orpheus Choir she has directed performances including Bach's Christmas Oratorio and St.Matthew Passion, Handel's Messiah and Israel in Egypt, Mozart's Requiem and Mass in C, Brahms' Requiem and Song of Destiny, Fauré's Requiem, Elgar's The Kingdom and The Music Makers, Poulenc's Gloria, Dvořák's Te Deum, Vaughan Williams' Benedicite and Fantasia on Christmas Carols, Britten's St Nicolas and Ceremony of Carols, John Rutter's Requiem, Feel the Spirit and Psalmfest, and Karl Jenkins' Sacred Songs and Te Deum.
